The Estate
The Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux is an association bringing together the most prestigious Bordeaux wines and has 134 members including Château Carbonnieux. Founded in the 13th century by the Benedictine monks of the Sainte-Croix Abbey in Bordeaux, the wines of Château Carbonnieux have crossed the centuries to become, in 1959, grands crus classés. The Perrin Family has owned this magnificent estate for three generations and works with passion to continue the history of this great Bordeaux classic.
The terroir
The vineyard is located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, on a ridge of deep gravel and clay, naturally drained.
The grape variety
Châteaux Carbonnieux is composed mainly of two grape varieties, Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. Merlot brings suppleness and sensuality while Cabernet-Sauvignon brings power and tannin.
The wine
Château Carbonnieux is a Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé de Graves carefully crafted by the Perrin Family. This garnet-colored red wine is a very expressive wine characterized by elegance and finesse. A Pessac-Léognan that is already seductive and has a promising future.
