This white Pessac-Léognan from Domaine de la Solitude is a very elegant wine driven by Sauvignon. This great Bordeaux wine is fresh and intense; it's a balanced wine that pairs perfectly with white meat, white fish, or dry cheese. A small bottle for a great wine!

The Estate

Located 18 km southwest of Bordeaux, Domaine de la Solitude has been owned by the Religious Community of the Holy Family of Bordeaux since 1854. Since 1993 and for a period of 40 years, the vineyard has been entrusted to the Bernard Family, owner of the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier, Grand Cru Classé de Graves. The Solitude vineyard covers 32 hectares in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation and a real in-depth work has been put in place to respect the fruit and its terroir.

The terroir

The surrounding forest creates a significant thermal contrast between the cold and warm seasons. On the edge of the woods, the relatively cool spaces are ideal for producing great white wines. The gravelly soils, which sit atop clay-gravel subsoils, are remarkably well-drained.

The grape variety

Sauvignon is the grape variety that best expresses the Pessac soils. It brings clarity, minerality, and citrus to the blend of white wines. Sémillon is powerful in aromas with notes of stone fruit and brings aromatic complexity to Pessac wines.

The wine

This half-bottle of white Pessac-Léognan is carefully crafted at Domaine de la Solitude. It offers a beautiful pale gold color with green highlights. This Pessac-Léognan reveals an expressive nose of citrus, peach, and white flowers. Notes of gunflint are also present. This is a very distinctive and pure dry white wine that can be enjoyed as an aperitif, with veal blanquette, scallops, or sushi.

Dare to try half bottles of wine!
