The Estate

Located 18 km southwest of Bordeaux, the Domaine de la Solitude has been owned by the Religious Community of the HOLY FAMILY of Bordeaux since 1854. Since 1993 and for a period of 40 years, the operation of the vineyard has been entrusted to the Bernard Family, owner of the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier, Grand Cru Classé de Graves. The Solitude vineyard extends over 32 hectares in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation and real in-depth work has been put in place to respect the fruit and its terroir.

The terroir

The surrounding forest generates a significant thermal contrast between the cold season and the hot season. On the edge of the woods, the relatively cool spaces are conducive to the production of great white wines. The gravelly soils laid on clay-gravelly subsoils are remarkably draining.

The grape variety

Sauvignon is the grape variety that best expresses the soils of Pessac. It brings straightness, minerality and citrus fruits to the blend of white wines. Sémillon is powerful in aromas with notes of stone fruits and brings aromatic complexity to Pessac wines.

The wine

This half-bottle of white Pessac-Léognan is made with great care at the Domaine de la Solitude. It offers a beautiful pale gold color with green highlights. This Pessac-Léognan reveals an expressive nose of citrus fruits, peach and white flowers. Notes of flint are also present. It is a very typical dry white wine of great purity that can be enjoyed as an aperitif, with a veal blanquette, a scallop or sushi.

Dare to try half bottles of wine!
