The Estate
Domaine Vincent Carême was founded in 1999. It is located in Vernou-sur-Brenne in the Indre-et-Loire department, in the heart of the Vouvray appellation. The vineyard covers 17 hectares, cultivated entirely using organic farming methods. The passionate care associated with this exceptional vineyard makes this estate a leading figure in the Vouvray appellation.
The terroir
Over millions of years, the erosion of the Loire, Brenne, and their tributaries has created the finest wine-growing soils in the Vouvray appellation. This characteristic flint-clay terroir is dedicated to Chenin.
The grape variety
Chenin Blanc is the only grape variety that produces Vouvray. Chenin is a large, vigorous grape variety; it is expressive, very refined, and has excellent aging potential.
The wine
The Sec cuvée from Domaine Vincent Carême is a great success! Its golden color and the brilliance of its robe distinguish it from other wines produced in the Loire Valley. This Vouvray offers a beautiful aromatic palette of pear and vine peach with a hint of quince. On the palate, it is generous and a pleasant acidity is present throughout the tasting. It will be the ideal companion for aperitifs but will also be appreciated with fish or seafood, white meat or even a vegetable gratin.
Dare to drink wine in half bottles!
