The feminine elegance of a great terroir wine.

Born from the expertise of a family business established since 1870, the Sélection Madame du Château Cantenac embodies the finesse and roundness typical of the finest Merlots of Saint-Émilion. This wine pays tribute to the refined and passionate personality of Nicole Roskam-Brunot, an emblematic figure of the estate.

An exceptional terroir

Grown on the gravelly and sandy-clay slopes of the right bank, the vineyard benefits from optimal sunshine and well-drained soil, ideal for producing perfectly ripe grapes. The vines, with an average age of 35 years, are managed using sustainable viticulture, certified High Environmental Value (HVE).

Precise winemaking

The Sélection Madame is vinified by plot, with great attention paid to the harvest. After fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete vats, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (approximately 25% new), which gives it complexity and balance without masking the fruit.

Tasting

  • Eye : Beautiful deep ruby color with garnet highlights.

  • Nose : Expressive bouquet combining ripe red and black fruits (cherry, plum, blackcurrant) with spicy and slightly woody notes (cocoa, vanilla, mocha).

  • Palate : Supple attack, silky texture, fine and well-integrated tannins. A charming, elegant and harmonious wine, with a persistent and fresh finish.

Food and wine pairings

A perfect accompaniment to grilled red meats, roast poultry, stews, and mature cheeses, it also pairs wonderfully with roast lamb, prime rib, or mushroom risotto.

Serving tips

  • Temperature : Serve between 16 and 18°C.

  • Decanting : Recommended for young vintages.

  • Storage : Enjoy after 3 to 4 years, with a storage potential of 10 to 15 years, or even longer for structured vintages.

Dare to try half-bottle wine!
