The Estate
In the heart of the Haut-Médoc region, in the commune of Saint-Sauveur-en-Médoc, Château Peyrabon stands majestically, just a few kilometers from Pauillac and the Gironde estuary. Spread over five hectares within the Pauillac appellation, the approximately 23-year-old vines are exclusively dedicated to producing a unique wine: Château La Fleur Peyrabon. The oldest documents documenting the estate's existence date back to the 18th century. Today, for over twenty years, the Bernard family has worked passionately to serve this Haut-Médoc marvel, with the ambition of creating great wines that reflect the expression of their terroir.
The terroir
The Château Peyrabon vineyard is located on a gravelly hillside, a preferred terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon with clay subsoils. These well-drained soils allow for beautifully ripe grapes thanks to the heat accumulated during the day and released throughout the night.
The grape variety
The dominant grape variety at Château La Fleur Peyrabon is Cabernet Sauvignon, a black grape variety characteristic of the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region. 36% Merlot is added, which brings roundness and suppleness to the wine, and finally Petit Verdot, which gives tannic richness and aromatic power characterized by violet.
The wine
Density, structure, and depth are the key qualities that make Château La Fleur Peyrabon a truly great Pauillac wine. Its purple color displays violet highlights, the nose reveals an intense aromatic bouquet, and the palate displays superb structure with beautifully crafted tannins. This Pauillac is perfect with roast meat, poultry, or soft cheese.
