The Estate

Maison Vincent Girardin is based in Meursault in Burgundy on the Route des Grands Crus and owes its worldwide reputation to the quality of its wines. It was in 1980 that Vincent Girardin, from a family of winegrowers since the 17th century, inherited two hectares of vines from his parents and decided to produce his own wine, he was then 19 years old. Working in the vineyard has always been his passion and very quickly the quality of his wines was recognized worldwide and allowed him to increase his business. In 2012 the prestigious Maison Vincent Girardin was taken over by a long-standing partner: Jean-Pierre Nié, President of the Compagnie des Vins d'Autrefois located in Beaune. Maison Vincent Girardin offers wines from prestigious appellations of the Côte de Beaune: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, Savigny-Les-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, Volnay and Pommard.

The terroir

Located in the commune of Meursault, this Meursault Vieilles Vignes comes from a blend of several plots and has two terroir characteristics: on the one hand an old Callovian limestone rock and on the other hand an Aargau marl rock.

The grape variety

Chardonnay originates from the Burgundy vineyard. It is a white grape variety that has conquered many wine-producing countries. Chardonnay has the ability to interpret with grace and elegance each terroir that welcomes it.

The wine

Meursault is one of the most renowned appellations in the world. With its golden and brilliant color, the Meursault Vieilles Vignes from Maison Vincent Girardin offers pure and intense aromas of almonds and roasted hazelnuts with vegetal and mineral notes. On the palate, it is a rich wine that offers a magnificent balance between smoothness and freshness. This half-bottle of Burgundy wine will divinely accompany foie gras, blue cheese, white meat or shellfish.
