The Estate

With extensive experience in various vineyards in France and South Africa, Antoine Van Remoortere returned to the family estate, Château de Maupas, alongside his father Joseph, who has been based in Morogues, a small village in Cher, since 1989. He now cultivates four hectares of vines under the Menetou-Salon appellation. Deeply committed to respecting the land and the environment, he is gradually moving towards organic farming.

The terroir

The Menetou-Salon vineyard is located to the east of the Loire, in a northern climate, its soil is clay-limestone of Kimmeridgian age.

The grape variety

Pinot Noir thrives on the clay-limestone terroirs of Menetou-Salon. It produces supple wines with aromas of cherries and ripe plums.
