The Estate
With his many experiences on different estates in France and South Africa, Antoine Van Remoortere returned to the family estate, Château de Maupas, alongside his father Joseph, who has been living in a small village in Cher called Morogues since 1989. Today, he cultivates four hectares of vines under the Menetou-Salon appellation. Very attached to respect for the land and the environment, he is gradually moving towards organic farming.
The terroir
The Menetou-Salon vineyard is located to the east of the Loire, in a northern climate, its soil is clay-limestone of Kimmeridgian age.
The grape variety
Pinot Noir thrives on the clay-limestone soils of Menetou-Salon. It produces supple wines with aromas of cherries and ripe plums.
The wine
The Menetou-Salon produced by Antoine Van Remoortere is a red wine from the Loire Valley, light with a beautiful elegant structure. It offers a beautiful freshness in the mouth and will pair perfectly with roast poultry, fish or dry goat cheese.
