The Estate
It was with the acquisition of the Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules plot that the fabulous history of Maison Jadot began in 1826. Thirty years later, the first stone was laid, this family business developed the wine trade in Northern Europe and thus contributed to the reputation of Burgundy wines. Several generations have succeeded one another at the head of the family business and today the House is managed by Pierre-Henry Gagey. For almost 200 years, Maison Louis Jadot has paid particular attention to the preservation of Burgundy and its wine heritage in order to offer fine and balanced wines of exceptional quality.
The terroir
Located between Savigny Lès Beaune in the North and Pommard in the South, the Beaune vineyard is the largest in the Côte de Beaune. In this commune, there are 36 Premiers Crus but no Grands Crus. It is around this Clos des Ursules plot that it all began.
The grape variety
Pinot Noir is the source of the greatest red wines of Burgundy and has truly contributed to the reputation of this region throughout the world. It has the ability to restore the nuances of its terroir in the wines it produces.
The wine
This Premier Cru Clos des Ursules is a Côte de Beaune from the historic plot of Maison Louis Jadot. This half-bottle of deep red reveals a delicate and balanced wine with a long finish on the palate. This Côte de Beaune will be the ideal partner for a rabbit terrine, a moussaka or a roast veal and will divinely accompany a hard cheese.
Dare to try wine in half bottles!
