The Estate
The Estate created by Désiré Rolet in 1942 is one of the jewels of the Jura vineyard. His 4 children then took over by sharing the roles within the Estate. In 2018, the Rolet family handed over to three families passionate about wine and the Jura: the Devillard, Dupuis and Flambert families. This is a long-term evolution with the desire to maintain a precise balance between tradition and modernity as it has reigned at the estate for eight decades. Expressing the rich diversity of Jura wines and their identity has been the watchword of the estate to make it reach a level of excellence recognized vintage after vintage. It is the team then in place that is now working to write a new page while respecting the Rolet identity under the leadership of Cédric Ducoté Manager, Chloé Weber Cellar Master and Louis Morel Head of Culture. The Estate is in the process of converting to Organic Agriculture.
The terroir
The vineyard of this Côtes du Jura is located on the Byards hillside in Vernois at the top of the slope and in an amphitheater facing due south. The soils are composed of gray marl from the Lias and covered with limestone scree.
The grape variety
Chardonnay is the dominant grape variety in the Jura vineyards. It expresses the originality of the terroir on which it grows.
The wine
With its bright golden color, this half-bottle of Côtes du Jura Chardonnay from Domaine Rolet delivers a superb bouquet of white flowers and dried fruits. On the palate, the attack is generous, the balance between roundness and acidity is pleasant. It is without a doubt an exceptional Côtes du Jura to enjoy with snails with parsley, fish dishes or a veal blanquette.
Dare to try wine in half bottles!
