The Vacqueyras terroir is laid out on terraces on the southern slope of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The soils made up of alluvium and pebbles give the grapes a fruitier note. La Grangelière by Pierre Amadieu offers scents of undergrowth with a few touches of vanilla, then peppery and spicy notes emerge. It will pair wonderfully with a leg of lamb or with strong cheeses.

The Estate
Almost 100 years of know-how for this family of passionate winegrowers. The Amadieu family is constantly improving its infrastructure and inaugurated a new aging cellar built in natural stone at the beginning of 2019. A new building dedicated to preparing orders was also built. In July 2019, the Domaine les Hautes Cances in Cairanne was bought by the Amadieu family, this Cairanne appellation is very young because it has only been definitively approved since June 25, 2018.
The terroir
The Vacqueyras terroir is planted in terraces on the southern slope of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The soils are made up of alluvium and pebbles, giving the wine a fruitier character than its “big brother” Gigondas.
The grape variety
Grenache Noir is the main grape variety in the Vacqueyras appellation. It was imported from Spain in the Middle Ages to Languedoc, the Rhone Valley and Provence. It produces fleshy and deep wines. Syrah is a complementary grape variety, it is expressive with a beautiful aromatic richness.
The Wine
This half-bottle of Vacqueyras reveals scents of undergrowth and small red fruits, followed by some sweet notes of vanilla which evolve in the mouth towards the breadth and power of peppery and spicy notes.
