The Estate
In 1929, Pierre Amadieu decided to market the bottles from the 7 hectares of Gigondas vines that he owned. He was one of the first to put the name of the appellation on his bottles and won a gold medal at the Concours Agricole de Paris. Today, Pierre Amadieu's children and grandchildren have taken up the family torch and continue to perpetuate the Amadieu spirit.
The terroir
La Gravinière comes from three terroirs: the slates, a soil dotted with white stones which brings a beautiful aromatic persistence, and aromas of flint; the sands, a light and filtering soil which gives elegant wines and the rolled pebbles which bring structure and roundness.
The grape variety
Grenache noir is the basic grape variety for the production of Tavel, it brings roundness and power to the wine. The secondary grape varieties are Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Cinsault is a southern grape variety that appreciates the sun and does not fear drought. It gives the wine its aromatic finesse. Syrah for the aromatic power of red fruits and Mourvèdre for the aromatic freshness.
The wine
With its sparkling raspberry-colored dress with amber highlights, this half-bottle of Tavel reveals floral and fruity aromas soon won over by softer fragrances of candied fruits enhanced by a few spicy notes. La Gravinière is an exceptional rosé wine that offers a beautiful balance on the palate and combines great finesse with beautiful freshness. To be enjoyed very fresh with ratatouille, white meat or shellfish.
