The Estate
Located along the Gironde estuary, on the Route des Grands Vins, Château du Glana was built in 1870. Today, the property belongs to Jean-Paul Meffre who, with the help of his two sons, works to develop its untapped potential and each year the operation experiences a constant qualitative progression. The wines of Château du Glana embody the elegance and authenticity of the exceptional terroirs from which they come.
The Terroir
The Saint-Julien Pavillon du Glana vines are planted on Garonne gravel soils and are around 25 years old.
The Grape Variety
Pavillon du Glana 2018 is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon is made up of small clusters of almost black berries with thick skin, it produces very tannic dark wines. Merlot is especially appreciated for its roundness and supple tannins.
The Wine
Saint-Julien Pavillon du Glana is the second wine of Château du Glana. It is a round and balanced wine with a fabulous freshness in the mouth. This 2018 vintage is without a doubt a very great vintage. This half-bottle of Saint-Julien will be the perfect partner for red or white meat.
