The Estate
Founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, the Domaine is located in a small, ancient village and cradle of the Côte-Rôtie appellation called Ampuis. The winemakers at Maison E. Guigal take the greatest care of their vines to produce exceptional grapes and prestigious wines.
The terroir
The vineyard of this Condrieu with steep terraces overlooks the Rhône and its granite arenas conducive to its most complex expression are cultivated in a traditional manner.
The grape variety
Viognier is the only grape variety in the Condrieu appellation. This white grape variety is characterized by the complexity of some of its aromas. It produces captivating and elusive wines.
The wine
With its bright golden yellow color, this small bottle of Condrieu reveals a very intense nose of violet, apricot, white peach, and citrus. Its palate is fresh and round, a dry wine marked by fat with a beautiful smoothness. This Condrieu produced by Maison E. Guigal displays a remarkable minerality. It will pair ideally with a scallop skewer, a fish fricassee, or a creamy vegetable risotto.
