The prestigious Côte-de-Nuits, known worldwide for its Grands Crus, is located in Côte-d'Or between Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges. The Estate
The history of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826 with the acquisition of the Beaune Premier Cru des Ursules plot. Today, its vineyard stretches from the Côte de Nuits to the Mâconnais, including Grands Crus such as Clos Vougeot and Premiers Crus. Maison Louis Jadot has successfully developed its wines across all Burgundy appellations, and in addition to being a property owner, this large house has also developed its wine trade, which has earned it its worldwide reputation today.
The terroir
Located on the Route des Grands Crus, along the Côte de Nuits, the wine-growing village of Vougeot enjoys a worldwide reputation thanks to the Grand Cru Clos Vougeot appellation. This Clos comprises approximately two and a half hectares of vines planted on limestone soil with varying degrees of clay. This soil is very well-drained thanks to the abundance of small pebbles.
The grape variety
The Côte de Nuits is the kingdom of Pinot Noir, the white-fleshed black grape that produces the finest red wines of Burgundy. This grape variety has the ability to brilliantly reproduce all the nuances of its terroir.
