The Estate
Domaine de la Cotelleraie is located in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil in the Indre-et-Loire department, on the route of the great châteaux of the Loire Valley. This estate has belonged to the Vallée family for several generations, and its vineyard now covers 26 hectares. Since 1997, Gérald Vallée has managed the family estate and, in 1999, decided to implement organic farming practices, as respecting the vines, the soil, and the environment is essential to him. The aim of this choice is to produce high-quality wines, great Cabernet Sauvignons that reflect their terroir, wines that are fresh, fruity, and elegant.
The terroir
This Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Les Montils is the result of blending two parcels. The first is the gravel terrace of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, and the second lies on clay-limestone slopes. The wines produced from these terroirs are complex wines with subtle tannins.
