The Estate

In the 17th century, Château Rochet belonged to Antoinette de Guillemotes, who married Etienne de Lafon. Château Rochet was thus renamed Château Lafon-Rochet. This property entered the Grands Crus Classés classification in 1855. In 1960, Guy Tesseron became the owner and modernized this historic estate. This wine lover manages the property with passion and produces unique wines. Today, Basile Tesseron, Guy's grandson, has taken up the torch and it is with adoration and rigor that he works with his team to fabulously express the potential of its terroir. Château Lafon-Rochet is one of the great ambassadors of this prestigious Saint-Estèphe appellation.

The terroir

The terroir covers 40 hectares and the vines have an average age of 30 years. The soils, composed of deep gravel and gravel over clay, give the wine its finesse and uniqueness. This vineyard proudly represents this appellation, surrounded by prestigious neighbors such as Château Montrose and Château Cos d'Estournel.

The grape variety

The 2020 vintage blend is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by Merlot, and a little Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most famous grape varieties on the planet, producing some of the world's most expensive wines. In the United States, it's so famous that a day is dedicated to it every August 30th: "International Cabernet Sauvignon Day."

The wine

This Saint-Estèphe from Château Lafon-Rochet is a rich wine with natural power. Its color is a beautiful, intense red. This wine, with its aromas of red and black fruits, reveals some toasty notes. This fine, full-bodied wine is a small masterpiece that will be a royal accompaniment to your bold menus.

With a fruity attack highlighted by aromas of red fruits and balanced tannins, this Saint-Estèphe Château Lafont-Rochet 2020 will reveal its full amplitude after a few years of aging.

Dare to try half-bottle wine!
