This estate is rated * in the Guide to the Best Wines of France published by La Revue du Vin de France.

A sure value of French savoir-faire.

Château Grand Mayne is a Grand Cru Classé of the Saint-Emilion appellation. It is produced by the Nony Family, owners of this historic estate since 1934. This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. It is a wine of exceptional elegance and refinement that can be enjoyed with a leg of lamb, cured meats, or a dish in sauce.

The Estate

The Nony Family has owned Château Grand Mayne since 1934 and meticulously cares for its illustrious vineyard, harmoniously spread around the Château. The estate covers 17 hectares, and the average age of the vines is 35 years. The House's priority is quality rather than quantity. This is how wines of dazzling elegance and nobility are born.

The Terroir

The estate spans 17 hectares on a clay-limestone hillside. The bottom of the hillside consists of clay and ancient sands over clay. It is a varied and complex terroir with multiple facets that allows the vines to develop harmoniously and produce wines of excellence.

The Grape Variety

The predominant grape variety is Merlot. It flourishes and gives its best on the Bordeaux terroirs. Merlot gives the wine its dark color and aromas of black fruits. Cabernet Franc is present in smaller quantities. When it comes from clay-sandy soils, it gives the wine aromas of tobacco and violet.

The Wine

Château Grand Mayne is a Grand Cru Classé of the Saint-Emilion appellation. It is an authentic and refined wine with a deep red color and amethyst reflections. It is very expressive and reveals a wide aromatic palette: blueberry, redcurrant, spices, and chocolate. This Grand Cru Classé can be enjoyed with game, a leg of lamb, braised meat, a rump steak, or a hard cheese.

Dare to try small wine bottles!
