The Estate

A true emblem of the Médoc vineyard, Château Potensac is located in the North of Médoc in the commune of Ordonnac and has belonged to the same family since the dawn of time. Passed down from generation to generation, it is now the property of Jean-Hubert DELON who inherited it from his grandmother. The Delon family owns other estates in Bordeaux such as Château Léoville-Las-Cases, Second Cru in the Saint-Julien appellation or Château Nénin in the Pomerol appellation.

The terroir

The vines of Château Potensac benefit from an exceptional terroir and extend over approximately 70 hectares on mounds with a limestone subsoil covered with gravelly ridges. This terroir is relatively similar to that of the Saint-Estèphe appellation.

The grape variety

Merlot is the main grape variety at Château Potensac. It produces exclusively red wines that are rather full-bodied and suitable for aging. Cabernet Sauvignon brings suppleness and elegance. Cabernet Franc offers fine tannins and subtle aromas. This blend gives the wine complexity and a bouquet of aromas.

The wine

Château Potensac produced by the Delon Family is a very fine wine, with great richness and extraordinary freshness. With a warm garnet color, this Médoc with dense and spicy tannins is a worthy representative of the "pure Médoc style". This small bottle of Château Potensac will be enjoyed with roast duck breasts, lamb or veal paupiettes.

Dare to try small bottles of wine!
