The Estate

Château d'Arsac is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc with a thousand years of history. The estate has passed through the hands of many Bordeaux bourgeois who have turned it into a high-flying wine-growing operation with 250 hectares of vines. Over time, Château d'Arsac fell into ruins until it was bought by Philippe Raoux in April 1986, who undertook numerous works to restore the château to its former appearance. Mission accomplished because today Château d'Arsac has been classified for 54 hectares in the Margaux appellation and then promoted to the rank of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.

The terroir

The vines of Château d'Arsac are planted on gravelly brown soil and a sandy-clayey, marl or limestone subsoil depending on the area.

The grape variety

The Margaux Château d'Arsac is a blend of Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot. The Cabernet-Sauvignon grape variety is emblematic of the Médoc, it produces wines that are powerful in color and aromas. Merlot is appreciated for its fruity and sensual character that it transmits to the wine.

The wine

Here is a half-bottle of Margaux carefully crafted at Château d'Arsac. With an almost black color, this Cru Bourgeois reveals a bouquet of ripe red fruits. The palate is supple and velvety, the finish is long and finely woody. To be enjoyed with red or white meat, with pan-fried salmon or Cantal cheese.

Dare to try half-bottle wine!
