How to avoid wasting wine?

Here are some tips to avoid wasting wine:

Storing opened wine

To begin, after opening, transfer the wine into a smaller container to limit contact with air.
You can use a pump corkscrew to remove the air from the bottle if you have one.
Finally, you can keep the bottle in the refrigerator to slow down oxidation.

Reuse opened wine

Use wine for cooking: sauces, marinades, ice cubes, etc.
Make cocktails with leftover wine. There are many delicious cocktails made with wine, including the Bellini or mimosa made with sparkling wine, sangria made with red wine or even the Jacqueline made with white wine for example.
If none of these options convince you, you can add a little wine to a new bottle to use up the leftovers.

Choosing the right quantity

Before opening a bottle, calculate the quantities needed based on the number of guests and the length of the meal. Depending on the result, choose suitable formats such as half-bottles of 37.5cl or magnums for example.

By applying these few simple gestures, we can considerably reduce wine waste. It's good for the environment and the wallet!

Dare to try half-bottle wine!
