The Estate

The Domaine de la Cotelleraie is located in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil in the Indre-et-Loire department on the road to the great castles of the Valley of the Kings. This estate has belonged to the Vallée family for several generations and its vineyard now covers 26 hectares. Since 1997, Gérald Vallée has managed the family estate and decided in 1999 to implement an organic farming philosophy as respect for the vines, the soils and the environment seemed obvious to him. The aim of this choice is to produce quality wines, great cabernets that reflect their terroir, fresh, fruity and elegant wines.

The terroir

This Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Les Montils is the result of a blend of two plots. The first is the gravel terrace of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and the second is located on clay-limestone hillsides. The wines from these terroirs are complex wines with subtle tannins.

The grape variety

Cabernet-Franc is the emblematic grape variety of the Loire Valley. It produces wines of great finesse with a wide aromatic palette.

The wine

Les Montils du Domaine de la Cotelleraie is a Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil carefully crafted by Gérald Vallée. This Touraine wine with a beautiful garnet red color reveals aromas of fresh red and black fruits. The palate is round and delicious with hints of liquorice. It is a harmonious wine with exceptional finesse that will pair well with grilled red meat.

Dare to try half-bottle wine!
