The Estate

Weinbach means “wine stream”, the name of the small stream that crosses this majestic estate. Located at the foot of the Schlossberg hill, the Domaine Weinbach was built in 1612 by the Capuchin monks. It was in 1898 that the Domaine was acquired by the Faller brothers and then passed on to their son and nephew Théo who developed and expanded it. In 1979, his wife Colette and his daughters Catherine and Laurence, driven by the same passion for the great wines of Alsace, took over the reins of the property. Today, Catherine Faller runs the Domaine with her sons Eddy and Théo.

The terroir

The Mambourg vineyard is located on a south-facing hill and benefits from optimum sunshine. It overlooks the village of Sigolsheim and has limestone and marl soils. This incomparable terroir produces wines with a unique personality.

The grape variety

Gewurztraminer is a grape variety with an incomparable aromatic richness. Its small berries have a thick pink skin and its juice is particularly sweet. The result is sweet, fine and elegant wines with a very great aging potential.

The wine

The Vendanges Tardives are exceptional wines with a rare aromatic complexity. This Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Mambourg Vendanges Tardives from Domaine Weinbach is a wine with a strong personality, its nose is complex and deep with aromas of yellow fruits and floral notes. The attack is soft and of great purity. It will accompany cheeses with a powerful taste and will be extraordinary with a foie gras terrine.
